There is no effective medication for the degenerative disc disease. I was diagnosed with it about 10 years ago. I take pain medication Neurontin for pain and nerve pain. Hope this helps
Vicodin is the best for pain (no exceptions). Even as the drug of the emergency room because she is quickly aware of the pain response of emergency. Flexeril is a muscle relaxant that also helps, but tends to do a little sleepy. One thing to check is the epidural injection of steroids, either radiologists or pain clinic. You can give and epidural steroid anti-inflammatory, and people usually get a huge relief after a bit of epidural anesthesia. A drug that does not work for me at all "Skelaxin". Darvocet helps pain, but not to the point of Vicodin.

I suggest you consult a chiropractor ... regularly ... to remain flexible. And it must Glucosamine Chondroitin MSM ... at least 6 per day ... cheaply available to Sam's Club. Who holds your tapes in good shape.
